Construction payment deadline calculator
Work out the payment due date, the payer's payment notice deadline, the pay less notice deadline and the final date for payment. Use the Scheme for Construction Contracts (England and Wales, as amended in 2011) or type in your own contract's periods. Christmas Day, Good Friday and bank holidays are left out of the count, as section 116 of the Construction Act requires.

Worked example
A Scheme interim payment for a period ending Saturday 31 October 2026, with the claim sent the same day. The due date is 7 days later, Saturday 7 November. The payer's payment notice is due by Thursday 12 November. The final date for payment is 17 days after the due date, Tuesday 24 November, so a pay less notice must be given by Tuesday 17 November.
Over Christmas the dates move. For a period ending Sunday 20 December 2026, 25 December, 28 December (the substitute Boxing Day) and 1 January are not counted, so the due date is 29 December, the payment notice deadline 4 January 2027, the pay less deadline 9 January and the final date 16 January.
